The Syro-Malabar Catholic Church Community in Cork is beginning a new chapter at St Brendan’s Roman Catholic Church, The Glen, where the community will now celebrate Holy Qurbana and hold its weekly Catechism classes.
The Syro-Malabar Catholic community has celebrated Holy Qurbana and conducted Catechism classes at SMA Wilton Church for many years. Through the kind consideration, vision and guidance of Bishop Fintan Gavin, Bishop of Cork and Ross, the community has now been granted permission to celebrate Holy Qurbana at St Brendan’s and to conduct Catechism classes at the school located adjacent to the church.
Sunday Schedule
The community’s regular Sunday schedule at St Brendan’s will be:
3:30pm – Catechism Classes
5:00pm – Holy Qurbana
The Syro-Malabar community would like to express its sincere and heartfelt gratitude to Bishop Fintan Gavin for inviting and welcoming the community to St Brendan’s and for making this new arrangement possible.
The community is also deeply grateful to Fr John for his valuable assistance and support throughout the process, and to all the parishioners of St Brendan’s Blackpool, Glen, Ballyvolane Parish for the warm and gracious welcome they have extended to the community.
It is hoped that this new place of worship will be a source of blessing, unity and spiritual growth for the entire Syro-Malabar community in Cork, particularly its children and families, as this new chapter begins together.
