The Cathedral of St Mary and St Anne invites applications for the position of Director of Music at the Cathedral of St Mary and St Anne, Roman Street, Cork
This is a part-time fixed-term contract. The person undertaking this post will work collaboratively with the Administrator of the Cathedral, Bishop of the Diocese and Priests of the Parishes, to:
- Develop music within the Cathedral Parish and will work to develop a wider vision and programme of Music for the Diocese of Cork and Ross
- Select appropriate liturgical music for each liturgy
Leading the Cathedral Choir at weekly Sunday Mass with Tuesday rehearsal. This work includes liturgical key dates and events for Holy Week and Easter Triduum Liturgies, The Liturgies at Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day, Corpus Christi and other Diocesan / Parish Liturgies that will arise on various occasions.

Bishop Fintan Gavin was the principal celebrant of Mass to mark St. Patrick’s Day at the Cathedral of St. Mary and St. Anne.
The Mass was attended by members of the Cork City Council, lead by Lord Mayor Cllr. Kieran McCarthy, along with Ann Doherty, Chiel Executive of Cork City Council and Brian Geaney, Assistant Chief Executive of Cork City Council.
The congregation enjoyed the hospitality of the Cathedral Parish after Mass at the Cathedral Visitor Centre.

A special Information Evening, for those aged between 18 and 25, who would like to travel with the Diocese of Cork and Ross to Lourdes (Sept 20th to 25th) as a Young Adult Helper, is taking place in Mardyke House, Cork, T12 W8RP on Tuesday 12th March at 7pm
It is a wonderful opportunity for a young person to help those pilgrims who require assistance and to grow deeper in their faith by experiencing the unique spirituality of Lourdes.

Bishop Fintan Gavin has announced the appointment of a Faith Development Coordinator to serve the parishes of the diocese
Lorraine Buckley will work alongside Eilís Casey, Parish Life Coordinator, and will be based at the Mission and Ministry Office located in the Cathedral Presbytery. Both will support the teams of priests and lay leaders across parishes in the Families of Parishes. Lorraine’s particular focus will be on faith development and formation for lay ministry.
Lorraine has worked both at parish and diocesan level in various areas of faith development and has been involved in parish councils and pastoral areas. She holds qualifications in business, theology (particularly in the areas of applied theology and catechetics), and counselling plus psychotherapy.
